The state of Uttar Pradesh in India has set a Guinness World Records for “The Longest Parade of Buses” on Thursday, amid the ongoing Kumbh Mela 2019.
The Uttar Pradesh state road transport corporation set’s a world record by rolling out a fleet of 510 buses.
The buses of Uttar Pradesh state road transport corporation (UPSRTC) covered a distance of over 3 kilometers (2 miles)
The parade was held to demonstrate the traffic plan which worked very well during the ongoing Kumbh Mela.
India’s Kumbh Mela 2019, the world’s largest religious gathering taking place in Prayagraj, is a 55 day long fair that began on 15 January 2019 and will last until 4th March 2019. Nearly 130-140 million visitors, pilgrims are expected to visit the Kumbh this year.
The buses of UPSRTC were painted in saffron color to mark the significance of Kumbh Mela.
The parade of 510 buses was held at NH-19, between sahson toll and nawabganj plaza.
This is the longest parade of Buses anywhere in the world. The earlier record of similar feat was holded by Abu Dhabi of 390 Buses.
